Heroes for Sale
I haven't been blogging lately, but I've been busy, if you were thinking to ask, finishing my second Hemingway mystery (tentatively titled HEMINGWAY CUTTHROAT), and returning to finish a mountain of other projects like a hawk hungry to pick off field mice. In the meantime, here's the first review/interview for HEMINGWAY DEADLIGHTS from the icebreaking prow of Library Journal.
And, to be thorough, a crotchety review of EXILE CINEMA: FILMMAKERS AT WORK BEYOND HOLLYWOOD from the pages of Cineaste, though what exactly a writer in Cineaste is doing reviewing a book about non-mainstream filmmakers while admitting to have never even heard the name Christopher Munch is a bit beyond me. But I'm just kvetching; it's a relief someone reviewed it!

Hi Michael,
I enjoyed your article on Julien Duvivier. My favorite Duvivier films are Un Carnet de bal and La Tête d'un homme.
I also liked your comments on Rossellini, another director whose films I love.
